Jacob Roloff Claims Family 'Sold Their Souls' Following Abuse Allegations

Little People, Big World star Jacob Roloff is opening up about a dark experience he had during his childhood.

The son of Matt and Amy Roloff, Jacob spent much of his upbringing being filmed for television. But one of his darkest moments hasn’t been revealed until now.

And most upsettingly, Jacob claims it was at the hands of one someone involved in the show.

Now, Jacob is speaking out about his family selling their soul.

As an adult, Jacob Roloff decided to stop appearing on Little People, Big World, complaining that it turned his family into “characters.”

But now, he’s sharing another reason he may have chosen to leave the production: he alleges he was abused by one of the producers.

“It is often much easier to think about things than it is to talk about them. And so this disclosure has been delayed, but through that delay I have found the fortitude and words. As a child, after what I realize now was a long grooming process, I was molested by an executive field producer for ‘Little People Big World,’ Chris Cardamone,” Jacob wrote in part.

“I do not expect to provide details of this encounter at any point publicly. I do hope he is never allowed around children again,” he continued.

Clearly, this has been weighing on Jacob his entire life. “I first began contemplating this statement when he texted me years later in November 2015,” he shared. “I choose to disclose it now as it remains a traumatic memory that needs to be exorcised of any further power over my development.”

Jacob continued to share that this was one of the reasons he deigns reality TV.

“I continue my own contemplation on the voyeurism involved in the entire enterprise of reality television — a massive spectacle of drama and pain and argument and invasion, with a little joy sprinkled over, that viewers watch completely disassociated from the complex humans inside the simplistic ‘characters’ they see on TV.”

He added, “I often ask sincerely, from this complex perspective: is it simply taken as granted that we should be capable of watching someone grow up week by week on TV? How does the environment of prying eyes, both lens and audience, affect self-perception?… Has anyone defined these lines? Studied it?”

Jacob signed off, “In solidarity with silent survivors.”

Now, a year after these allegations, Jacob seems to be implying that his family sold their soul to remain on the show.
